What we repair
A gate failure is rarely just the gate. It is usually the gate, the operator, the controls or the power feeding them.
- Gate will not open or close. Operator, control board, power supply or an obstruction the safety devices are reading.
- Operator problems. Swing and slide operators, motors, gearboxes, limit settings and control boards.
- Keypads, remotes, loops and intercoms. Access control that has stopped recognizing the people it should.
- Dragging, binding or misaligned gates. Hinges, posts, rollers, track and alignment. Often the underlying cause when an operator keeps failing.
- Safety devices. Photo eyes and edges that need to work correctly, for liability as much as convenience.
- Storm and impact damage. Bent frames, sheared hardware, water in the controls.
Why gates fail more often than people expect
A driveway gate lives outdoors, carries real weight, and cycles every time somebody comes or goes. Oregon weather adds water into control boxes, rust at hinges and posts, and ground movement that slowly pulls a gate out of alignment.
Most repeat operator failures we are called to trace back to alignment or load, not to the motor. Replacing the operator on a gate that is dragging buys a few months. Correcting the alignment and then servicing the operator is what actually lasts.
Commercial and shared access
For apartments, storage, shops, yards and shared drives, a gate failure is a security and operations problem, not an inconvenience. We work on commercial operators, access control and safety equipment, and we can talk through whether a system should be repaired, upgraded or replaced given how heavily it is used.
Common questions
My gate opens but will not close. What is wrong?
Most often a safety device: a misaligned photo eye or a dirty sensor reading an obstruction that is not there. Sometimes a limit setting.
Can you service a gate you did not install?
Yes. We work on most makes of gate and operator.
Can an existing manual gate be automated?
Usually, if the gate and posts are sound enough to carry an operator. That is the first thing we check.
Do you handle access control?
Yes, including keypads, remotes, loops and entry systems.
